Dambulla (Sinhala: දඹුල්ල, Tamil: தம்புள்ளை)

Dambulla is situated at the core of Sri Lankan tourism. Located in the central province of Sri Lanka, it is just a 30-minute drive from Sigiriya. Roads from Matale, Anuradhapura, Kandy, and Polonnaruwa all meet in Dambulla. The city is often bustling during the day, as it is home to Sri Lanka’s primary vegetable distribution center.

The main attraction in Dambulla is the Royal Cave Temple, which includes five unique caves with nearly 150 Buddha statues. These statues date back to approximately the 1st century BC.
